For this private residence, the architectural brief called for a sculptural, sweeping staircase that would serve as the central focal point of the living space. The design required materials that could balance the smooth, monolithic form of the plastered balustrade with warmth and natural texture.
ChêneOak supplied solid French oak planks, specifically milled to 300 × 45 mm, to create substantial, continuous treads that ground the ethereal curves of the staircase and connect the ground floor living areas to the upper level.
