This hotel lobby was designed as a calm, welcoming threshold between the city and the guest rooms above. The brief called for a central point of interest that would anchor the space, create a sense of place, and work comfortably with the existing stone and soft furnishings.
ChêneOak supplied solid French oak beams for the coffee tables and square oak floor panels to establish a continuous, warm material palette underfoot and at touch points.

Expressed timber mass – the 100 × 100 mm beams give the tables real visual weight; subtle arrised edges keep them tactile and comfortable for guests.
Metal base contrast – slim, dark metal legs set back from the table edges create a hovering effect and protect the timber from trolley and luggage impacts.
Panelised floor – 600 × 600 mm panels simplify installation while allowing intricate patterns; joints are aligned to key axes in the lobby.
Hard wax oil system – the natural finish maintains the feel of real timber, while providing serviceable protection for a heavy-traffic hospitality environment.
The combination of solid oak tables and matching floor panels delivers:
Guests encounter the oak tables as their first point of contact with the seating area, making them a tactile brand touchpoint for the hotel – and demonstrating the depth and stability of ChêneOak’s French oak sections.
